Yvonne Menard

OXFORD - Yvonne A. (Berry) Menard, 81, of Walnut Street, died Monday, November 9, 2009, in her home. She was predeceased by her husband of 29 years, Raymond H. Menard, who died in 1978. She is survived by two children, Roger P. Menard and his wife Francine of Worcester, and Janet M. Strand and her husband Stephen of Woodstock, CT; her sister-in-law, Bernice Berry of Auburn; four grandchildren, Brian, Nancy, Sara, and Timothy; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Alfred J. Berry; and a sister, Marie Holihan. She was born in Southbridge, the daughter of the late Alfred and Dorilda (Guilmette) Berry, and lived in Auburn and Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1955. She was a member of the first graduating class of Holy Name High School in Worcester in 1946, and attended Worcester State College. Mrs. Menard was a bookkeeper at the Webster Spring Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1990. Previously, she worked at Norton Co. in Worcester for 4 years. She was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and was a volunteer at the Oxford Senior Center for 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and bowling. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Boston MA-NH Office, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
