OXFORD – Yvonne A. (Desmarais) Latuga, 97, of Wheelock Street, died Saturday, March 26, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, after being stricken ill at home. She was predeceased by her husband, Enrico H. Latuga who died in 1974. She is survived by three children, Joseph E. Latuga and his wife Robin of Oxford, Cheryl A. Latuga of Auburn, and Rico T. Latuga and his wife Denise of North Oxford; her son-in-law, William Wenc of Oxford; her sister, Claire Potter of Ravenwood, MO; six grandchildren, Gary Latuga of Oxford, Joseph Latuga of Webster, Anthony Latuga of North Oxford, Lindsey Whitney of Leicester, Nicholas Latuga of Putnam, CT, and Tyson Latuga of Oxford; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two children, Gina Marie Latuga who died in 1967, and Michael H. Latuga who died in 2015; and a sister, Albertine Plante. She was born in Bristol, CT, daughter of the late Romeo and Fabiola (Menard) Desmarais, and lived most of her life in Oxford.
Mrs. Latuga worked at Webster Spring in Oxford for many years. She was a member of the Cooties of the American Legion in Apache Junction, Arizona, when she spent winters there. She enjoyed camping in her younger years. She liked to spend time gardening and was well known for her love of baking and cooking.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
