AUBURN – William D. Peters, 79, of Auburn, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deborah J. (Sjogren) Peters of Auburn; two daughters, Wendy J. Johnson of Connecticut, and Kristin Constantine and her husband Daniel of Euharlee, GA; a son, William D. Peters, Jr. and his wife Jill of Webster; two stepsons, Michael Gagner of Charlton, and Jeffery Gagner of Auburn; a sister, Linda Hazard and her husband Louis of Worcester; a brother, Mark Peters of Pownal, VT; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his longtime colleague and boss, Kent Taft; his coworker, Beth Sachs; and his beloved dog, Libby.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Theodore and Ruth (Libby) Peters. He lived most of his life in Auburn and was a graduate of North High School in Worcester. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

William was a purchaser administrator at Fallon Health for over forty years, before retiring in January of 2025. He loved spending time at the family cottage on Cape Cod and was fishing whenever he got the chance. William was proud of his service in the Navy and was forever grateful for his opportunity to protect the country. He was very supportive of the Wounded Warrior Project.

Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
