OXFORD - Wesley H. Ramsey, 57, of Main Street, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in his home, after a long battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cynthia A. (Duso) Ramsey of Oxford; his mother, Norma Jean (Golden) Lilly of Harrisonburg, VA; three children, Wesley H. Ramsey, II, and his wife Cress of Linville, VA, Jillian M. Myers of Harrisonburg, VA, and Jessica K. Ramsey of Oxford; 7 grandchildren, several nephews and nieces; several aunts and uncles in Virginia; and his dog, Jake. He was born in Radford, VA, and lived in Virginia before moving to Oxford 30 years ago. Wes was a truck driver for Champion Container in Sutton. Previously, he drove for Estes Trucking in Millbury for 10 years and was a self-employed long distance truck driver. Wes was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburg Steelers, enjoyed NASCAR racing, and loved backyard campfires with his friends and family. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, January 31, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
