OXFORD - Wayne R. Dickie, Sr., 82, of Oxford and Worcester, died Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Lutheran Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. He is survived by five children, Robert Dickie and his wife Jerri of Valrico, FL, Deborah Burden and her husband Dean of Worcester, Kevin Dickie of Leicester, Paul Dickie of Marlboro, and Pamela May and her husband Thomas of Worcester; a stepdaughter, Paula Blackwood of Oxford; three brothers, Bruce Dickie of Spencer, Craig Dickie of Worcester, and Roger Dickie of Worcester; four sisters, Roberta Connor of Worcester, Ann Webber of Florida, Marcia Hedge of Worcester, and Linda Berry of Arizona; many grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marjorie N. (Packard) Dickie who died in 1988; his second wife, Ruby A. Dickie who died in 2006; his son, Wayne R. Dickie Jr.; and his brother, Arlen Dickie who died in 1938. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Franklin A. and Inez A. (Romkey) Dickie. Mr. Dickie was a truck driver for Ryder Trucking for 5 years, retiring in 2007. Previously, he worked for Dickie Movers and Worcester Moving and Storage. He was a member of the Auburn Elks in Auburn. He enjoyed playing cards, country music, being around people, and most of all, spending time with his family. The family would like to thank Patricia Walsh and Leah McGill at the Lutheran Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care, love, and support they showed to Wayne during his time there. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Freeland St., Worcester. Burial will be private at a later date. Memorial calling hours are Tuesday, June 3, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
