Victor Pizzolato, Jr.

UXBRIDGE – Victor F. Pizzolato, Jr., 61, of Hazel Street, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 22, 2016, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Anna M. (Lewicke) Pizzolato of Uxbridge; two brothers, Wayne Pierce and Mark Pizzolato, both of Shreveport, LA; his sister, Patricia Bartley of Katy, TX; two cousins who were like brothers to him, Joseph Ferlito of Shreveport, LA, and Vincent Tuminello of Shreveport, LA; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, son of the late Victor F. and Betty Jean (Prins) Pizzolato Sr., and lived in Shreveport before moving to Uxbridge 19 years ago. He graduated from Airline High School in Shreveport and received his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Louisiana State University in Shreveport.

Mr. Pizzolato was a copy editor at the Worcester Telegram and Gazette for 15 years. Previously, he wrote for the Shreveport Times and UpRiver Magazine. He was an on-air personality at KWKH in Shreveport as well as other print and broadcast outlets. In his younger years, he worked at Mr. Vic’s Park and Shop, which was owned by his father. Mr. Pizzolato loved following the news and politics. He enjoyed his dogs, music, computers, gadgets, and keeping in touch with his family and very many friends.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Please meet directly at the church. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to A Place to Bark, P.O. Box 649, Portland, TN 37148, or to Dog Orphans, 90 Webster St., Douglas, MA 01516. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
