OXFORD - Timothy J. Hester, Jr., 66, of 17 Plantation Street, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Linda R. (Ekberg) Hester of Oxford; five children, Melissa J. Packard of Holden, Timothy J. Hester III of Brookfield, Tara M. Hester of Worcester, Melissa M. Morrison of Douglas, and Sheri L. Ryan of North Oxford; four grandchildren, one nephew, and two nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Beverly F. Cancelmo who died in 2007. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Timothy J. and Doris C. (McPartland) Hester, Sr., and lived in Leicester, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Indiana, before moving to Oxford 15 years ago. He graduated from South High School in Worcester in 1963 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and mathematics. Mr. Hester worked at Syndicate Systems Inc. (a division of Legett and Platt) for 20 years, retiring in 2009. Previously, he worked at Spencer Products in Spencer for 20 years. Memorial calling hours are Wednesday, March 14, 2012, from 1-3 p.m., at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A private graveside service will be held at North Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Oxford Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 84, North Oxford, MA 01537.
