Thomas Wright Ii

Webster – Thomas B. Wright II, 74, of Webster, died on Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Harrington Memorial Hospital – Hubbard Campus after an illness.

Mr. Wright is survived by his daughter, Heather J. Wright of Webster; a granddaughter, Isabella Grace Wright of Webster; two brothers, Ronald Wright and his wife Sylvia of Illinois and Stephen Wright of Michigan; two half-brothers, Robert Brackett Wright of California and Richard Maurissens Wright of Texas; his former wife and her husband, whom he was best friends with, Sandra Wright and Clarence Magnant Jr.. Thomas also leaves behind many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Kathy Wright. Thomas was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of the late Thomas B. and Dorothy E. (Taylor) Wright.

Mr. Wright was a proud Vietnam War veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps, where he attained the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and retired after 20 years of service to our country.

Tom worked for many years as a machinist at the Polyvinyl Films until his retirement. He was a fun-loving grandfather that loved spending time with his granddaughter who he affectionately called “Izzy B”. He especially liked taking hand in hand walks to Webster Lake and playing board games with her.

Tom could often be found watching sports, documentaries, and sci-fi movies. He was a sports fan and especially loved his Boston Red Sox. Tom, a Michigan native, was very happy to have seen the Chicago Cubs win the World Series this year.

Funeral and burial services will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, Agawam. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Tom to the VNA, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
