NORTH OXFORD - Theresa M. (LaPlante) Laramee, 87, of Leicester Street, died peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2015, in the home she was born in, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Joseph L. Laramee Jr., who died on August 5, 2015. She is survived by seven children, Joseph Laramee III and his wife Susan of Oxford, Paul Laramee and his wife Mary of Auburn, Ann Laramee of Oxford, Arthur Laramee and his wife Eloise of Oxford, Theresa LeBlanc and her husband Gary of Hubbardston, David Laramee and his wife Rebecca of North Oxford, and Michael Laramee and his wife Michelle of North Oxford. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, Joseph IV, Kate, Michelle, Brian, Roger, Ben, Jamie, Jennifer, Justin, Patrick, Laurie, Jessie, Aundrea, Cindy, Jennie, Peter, Elizabeth, Brittany, Zachary, Jason, Jamie, and Jennifer; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was born in North Oxford, daughter of the late Henry N. and Ella M. (Prunier) LaPlante, and lived all of her life in North Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1945 and Salter Secretarial School in Worcester in 1946. Theresa owned and operated her own tax business in North Oxford for 50 years. In addition, she was an executive secretary at Harrington and Richardson Gun Mfg. Co. in Rochdale during the Vietnam War. She was active in town elections, serving as warden in Precinct II for 38 years and later on the Board of Registrars. She also served on the Democratic Town Committee for many years. Theresa enjoyed knitting, crocheting, picking blueberries, and bowling. She taught C.C.D. at St. Ann's Church in North Oxford and was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for many years. She taught piano lessons and was a Notary Public for many years. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford. The family would like to thank the Visiting Angels, especially Laurie, Michelle, Brenda, Kelsie, Vicky, Mary, Jill, and Keith, for their care and friendship. They would also like to express their gratitude to the V.N.A. Care Network Hospice, especially nurses Paulette, Jill, and Vanessa, and social worker Marilyn, for care during her illness. The legacy Theresa and Joe left their children included the strong sense of family values, a practice of weekly faith worship at St. Ann's Church in North Oxford and St. Anne's Church in Manchaug that impacted everyday life, and lastly, Theresa showed her children how hard work and relentless perseverance would result in many life successes. A funeral will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
