OXFORD - Theresa M. Jakubowski, 82, of Old Worcester Road, died Monday, January 5, 2008, in her home. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Moshure of Littleton, CO; three nieces, Patricia Moshure of Littleton, CO, Kathleen Johnson of Olympia, WA, and Barbara Simpson of Danielson, CT; several grandnieces, several great grandnieces, and one great grandnephew. Tess also leaves longtime friends Rene Waiter and Barbara Schultz. She was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard Jakubowski and Joseph Jakubowski; and a special friend, Donald Meagher. She was born in Webster, the daughter of the late Boleslaw and Frances (Ostrokolowicz) Jakubowski, and lived Webster and Oxford throughout her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster and Becker College in Worcester. Tessie was proprietor of Mother's Market, a family business, in Webster for many years. Later she worked as an inventory control person at Imperial Distributors of Auburn, retiring at age 70. In her 30's, she was a champion at the St. Joseph's League Bowling Alley in Webster. She enjoyed traveling the world with her friends, and was respected and admired by those who knew her. A funeral will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Garden of Peace in Webster. Calling hours are Friday, January 9, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
