OXFORD – Theodore J. "Ted" Aubin Jr., 80, of Old Southbridge Road, died peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus in Worcester, surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Ann (Romano) Aubin of Oxford; two children, Vicki Aubin and her husband Jeet Paul of Jersey City, NJ, and Jeffrey Aubin of Webster; a brother, Ronald Aubin and his wife Gloria of Oxford; two sisters, Loretta Bolduc of Dudley and Carolyn Fields of Worcester; two grandchildren, Katie Bishop and Jeffrey Bishop, both of Webster; and nine nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Greece who died in 2021. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Theodore J. and Loretta (Lambert) Aubin Sr., and lived in Auburn and Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1978. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in Worcester in 1960, and attended Central Missouri State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Seoul, Korea, and Washington, D.C., as an SP5 Fixed Crypto Repairman, receiving a National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Aubin worked for the Oxford Housing Authority for 8 years, retiring in 2004. Previously, he worked for Alfred L. Brown Associates Inc. in Auburn and Heald Machine in Worcester, as an electromechanical repairman. He spent the majority of his career at these companies.
Mr. Aubin was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5663 and the American Legion Post 58, both in Oxford. He was the Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 147 in Oxford for several years. He enjoyed woodworking, basketball, world history. He loved the retired life, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time at home with his wife and family.
The family would like to thank his care team at UMass Memorial Medical Center, for their exemplary care and compassion during his illness.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local veteran’s organization of your choice.
