Susan Selby

OXFORD - Susan J. (Droll) Selby, 66, of Old Southbridge Road, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, October 7, 2013, at Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard in Webster. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Douglas; her daughters, Kara-Denise Selby of Oxford and Chamoni DeLong of Decorah, IA; her sons, Jeffrey Selby of Medway and Matthew Selby of Upton; her mother, Cecilia (Sarka) Droll of Golden, CO; her sisters, Bernadette Howard of Golden, CO, June Minor of Aurora, CO, and Barbara Farhar of Boulder, CO; five grandchildren, Autumn and Cameron DeLong of Decorah, IA, and Owen, Caleb, and Jared Selby of Medway. She was predeceased by her brother, Mark Droll. She was born in Denver, CO, the daughter of the late Edward E. Droll, and lived in Colorado, Worcester, Millbury, and Kentucky, before moving to Oxford in 1994. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in Wheat Ridge, CO, in 1965. Later, she attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, and Worcester State College. Susan worked in the Dinand Library at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester for 19 years, most recently as an archival assistant. She was an active member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford, where she volunteered for numerous committees. She was a volunteer at the Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf in Oxford and a member of the Charlton Garden Club. She will be remembered as a loving, selfless person of deep faith who always put the needs of others first. A funeral will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours are Friday, October 11, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
