WEBSTER – Susan L. (Bennett) Dorr, 70, formerly of Douglas Road, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. She is survived by three children, Stephanie N. Dorr of Oxford, John J. Dorr and his husband Heron Silva De Souza of Worcester, and David M. Dorr of Dudley; three sisters, Carol A. Holmes-Duval of Douglas, Laurie M. Magnussen of North Smithfield, RI, and Marcia J. Britton of Foxboro; her former husband, Daniel J. Dorr of Oxford; her best friend, Donna Sumrall of Webster; and many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, and grand nieces. She was born in Natick, daughter of the late John R. and Lucy B. (Pollard) Bennett, was raised in Millis and lived in Webster since 1986. She graduated from Millis High School in 1969.
Mrs. Dorr was a homemaker, stay-at-home mother, paralegal, and medical secretary throughout her life before retiring from Price Chopper Supermarket in Webster in 2013. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Church in Millis and volunteered at the Humane Society of Northwestern Rhode Island. She enjoyed traveling and loved history, genealogy, playing card and board games, and was an avid Patriots fan. She was a master crafter, highly skilled at knitting, crocheting, and other handiwork crafts. She enjoyed attending craft fairs, trips to Cape Cod to be by the ocean, and loved cats.
Calling hours are Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford. A prayer service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the conclusion of calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Webster-Dudley, 55 Oxford Ave., Dudley, MA 01571.
