Steven George Zografos

OXFORD – Steven George Zografos, 22, of Joe Jenny Road, died Saturday, December 23, 2023, as a result of injuries sustained in a dirt bike accident in Thompson, CT.  As tragic as it is for his family, they take solace in knowing that he died doing what he loved.

He is survived by his parents, Steven Francis and Marcella Marie (Tomsu) Zografos of Oxford; his twin sister, Sophia Marie Zografos of Oxford; his paternal grandmother, Judith Zografos of Randolph; his maternal grandparents, George and Marie Tomsu of Leicester; his aunts and uncles, Daniela Valentgas and her husband Harry of Sutton, Raymond Zografos and his wife Donna of Dighton, and Doreen Zografos-Ferrari and her husband Gerald Ferrari of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; three cousins, Harry Valentgas Jr., Brett Zografos, and Amanda Alverio.  He was born in Worcester and was a lifelong resident of Oxford.  He graduated from Oxford High School in 2020.

Steven’s passion was riding his dirt bike.  In addition, he loved to work on his bikes and his cars.  He enjoyed snowboarding, rock-climbing, hiking, cliff diving, kayaking, and many other outdoor activities.  He also enjoyed cooking and was a talented artist.

Steven grew up camping with his maternal grandparents at Powder Horn Campground in Old Orchard Beach, ME, and Jellystone Campground in Sturbridge.  He loved animals, especially his beloved pitbull, Axel.  He had a large circle of friends who remained close, including Hunter Palmarino, Justin Stately, Jeremy Lavallee, Nate Macfarlane, Connor Kelly, and Brady Bolduc.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.  Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford.  Calling hours are Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter in East Brookfield.
