OXFORD – Stephan “Dick” R. Ferdella, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia (Allen) Ferdella; his children, Debra Ferdella, Lori Rodriguez, Kerri Suprenant and her husband Archie, Joseph Coffey and his wife Alina, and Jeremiah Coffey and his wife Yolanda; his brother, James Ferdella and his wife Judy; his daughter-in-law, Melissa Coffey; seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael Coffey; and a sister, Jane Cabana.
He was born in Worcester on April 15, 1941, and lived most of his life in Oxford. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving from 1967-1968. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford for over 45 years.
Dick owned and operated Dick & Pauls Autobody in Worcester for over 30 years, retiring in 2011. During retirement, he delivered parts for Absep. He enjoyed playing pitch and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dick loved life and lived it to the fullest.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial with military honors will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are Monday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
