Stanley Smith

OXFORD – Stanley J. Smith, 57, of Old Worcester Road, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 19, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his life partner of 30 years, Roberta “Robin” A. Arena of Oxford; his son, Michael J. Smith of Oxford; two stepsons, Carl E. Arena and Christopher M. Arena, both of Oxford; his granddaughter, Madison Rose Arena of Northbridge; his brother, Gaylon Campbell of Maine; five sisters, Donna Matheson of Texas, Rhonda Langille of Maine, Debra Smith Martin of Fitchburg, Kathy Smith Doyle of Front Royal, VA, and Gail Smith McCassey of Putnam, CT; many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces. He was born in Ashland, ME, son of the late Stanley F. and Priscilla (Jimmo) Smith, was raised in Gleasondale and lived in Marlborough before moving to Oxford 13 years ago. He attended Nashoba Regional High School.

Mr. Smith was a construction worker for over 25 years. He was a mechanic and enjoyed working on race cars. He enjoyed sports, following the Boston sports teams, and loved racing and NASCAR.

Calling hours are Friday, December 23, 2016, from 7-9 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
