Scott Bodreau

OXFORD - Scott A. Bodreau, 44, died Monday, August 5, 2013, in his home surrounded by his family following a courageous year-long battle with bile duct cancer. He is survived by his children, Spencer and Dalton Bodreau of Oxford; his former spouse, Dendra Lee Bodreau of Oxford; his longtime partner, Vicky A. Durant, and her children Amelia and Emma Durant; his parents, Bruce and Patricia (Menard) Bodreau; his grandmother, Gertrude Menard of Putnam; his brother, Steven Bodreau and his wife Lisa of Quinebaug; his sister, Justine Gendreau and her husband William of Quinebaug; and five nephews and nieces, Ryan and Ashley Gendreau, Michael, Jillian, and Madison Bodreau. He was born in Putnam, and was raised in Quinebaug before moving to Oxford many years ago. He graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School in 1987. Scott worked for the facilities maintenance department for the Town of Oxford for 14 years. Previously, he owned and operated Visual Perfections Auto body and was a corrections officer for the State of Connecticut. He was a volunteer firefighter on the Quinebaug Fire Department and a firefighter on the Webster Rescue Squad. Scott was a member of St. Roch's Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4241, both in Oxford. Scott had a life-long passion for music and was an avid drummer. He played in many local bands throughout his life. Above all else, he loved spending time with his children, his family, and his dog, Chase. He will be missed by many friends, and especially by the girls at Shagged Hair Design. A funeral will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2013, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Wednesday, August 7, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
