AUBURN - Ruth D. Gale, 87, of Pakachoag Village, died Friday, July 31, 2009, at the Hermitage Nursing Home in Worcester. She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Lamoreaux and her husband Edward of Rutland, and Barbara Prentice and her husband Arthur of Saco, ME; and three nieces, Ruth Hutchins of Kingston, New Hampshire, Donna Smith of Pomfret Center, CT, and Martha Fowler of Georgia; and one nephew Scott Prentiss of Maine. She was predeceased by three sisters, Patricia Matthews, Esther Carson, and Shirley Wrubel. She was born in Mansfield, the daughter of the late George S. and Mary V. (Gay) Gale, and lived in Oxford for many years before moving to Auburn several years ago. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1941. Miss Gale worked at the Worcester Molded Plastic Company in Worcester for 28 years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church in Oxford and was skilled at decorating cakes. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2009, at the Oxford United Methodist Church, 465 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford United Methodist Church, 465 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
