OXFORD - Russell A. Dexter, Jr., 61, of Old Webster Road, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Jean E. (St. Germain) Dexter who died in 2010; and a grandson, Jared Dexter-Saqellari, who died in 2004. He is survived by three children, Amy M. Dexter, Steven E. Dexter and his wife Ana, and Paul E. Dexter and his wife K-Lani, all of Oxford; two sisters, Marcella Aubin of Grafton and Elsie Dexter of Douglas; four grandchildren, Calvin Dexter of Southbridge, JennieLou Dexter, Maxwell Dexter, and Eli Dexter, all of Oxford; and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Russell A. and Stasia (Picchocki) Dexter, Sr., and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Dexter was a custodian at Oxford High School for over 30 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5663 and the American Legion Post 58, both in Oxford. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and antiquing. He will be greatly missed by his beloved pets, Peanut, Brownie, Sadie, and Bella. Memorial calling hours are Friday, June 20, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date. No funeral service is planned at this time.
