DUDLEY – Rose E. Gemme, 84, died peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 17 years, David O. Gemme who died in 2011. She is survived by six children, Wayne E. Johnson and his wife Michele of Dudley, Patricia R. Cline and her husband Mike of Burlington, IA, Lana E. Hudon and her husband Ronald of Oxford, April V. McInnis and her husband Bret of Lake City, FL, Rachel E. Danelius and her husband John of Sutton, and John D. Gemme and his wife Tammy of Burlington, IA; three brothers, Albert Legere, Marcel Legere, and Gene Legere; a sister, Janet Binns; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Edwin Johnson; two brothers, Paul Legere and Henry Legere; and two sisters, Lila Castonguay and Lorraine Anderson. She was born in New Castle, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Marcel and Evelyn (Daly) Legere.
Mrs. Gemme loved all animals, especially cats. She had a passion for horses and miniature horses, which she enjoyed training and showing throughout her life. Most important in her life was spending time with her family.
Services will be held privately. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
