OXFORD – Ronald C. Vigeant, 76, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus in Worcester, with his son by his side.
He was a devoted loving husband of 51 years to Debra (Gardner) Vigeant. He is survived by his loving son, Kurt A. Vigeant and fiancée Melissa O’Connell, and his grandchildren, Jamie and Tyler. Mr. Vigeant was a lifelong resident of Oxford.
He owned and Operated Elevator Maintenance and Service in Worcester, Massachusetts, for many years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling with his son and was an avid racing fan – traveling throughout the country to watch the races. His favorite was short track racing at Thompson speedway. “Ronnie” – as he was known – helped his son win championships and enjoyed working on their race car. He was a member of the 200 Sportsmen Club and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was predeceased by a sister, Diane Vigeant who died in 1961; and a brother, Dennis Vigeant who died in 2012. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Clarence W. and Marie D. (Berard) Vigeant, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, May 17, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
