OXFORD - Ronald J. Messier, of Paige Lane, died Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Auburn. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bernice V. (Bugbee) Messier of Oxford; three daughters, Wendy A. Prunier and her husband Kenneth of Oxford, Lynn Yeiter and her husband David of Rindge, NH, and Ann Williams and her husband Bill of Oxford; a brother, Richard Messier of Leicester; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Cranska; and a dear friend, Helen Callahan. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Joseph A. and Marie B. (Picard) Messier, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School and Worcester Boys Trade School. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 6 years during the Korean War. Mr. Messier worked at Callahan Sheet Metal in Worcester for 50 years, retiring as a supervisor. He loved working and practiced his craft long into retirement. He was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 4241 in Oxford. He enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, and could fix anything. Above all he loved and was dedicated to his family. Services and burial will be private at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please do a random act of kindness in his memory.
