NORTH GROSVENORDALE, CT - Ronald J. Dupuis, III, 23, of Wagher Road, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, as a result of an accident at Fort Drum, NY. He is survived by his wife, Torri (Loce) Dupuis; his mother and step-father, Wendy (Sampson) LeBlanc and Richard LeBlanc of North Grosvenordale, CT; his father and step-mother, Ronald J. Dupuis Jr. and Sue Dupuis of Potsdam, NY; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Joan Sampson of Brookville, FL; his step-grandfather, Edmund LeBlanc of Ashland; a step-brother, Jonathan LeBlanc of New Haven, CT; two step-sisters, Jennifer LeBlanc of Manassas, VA, and Marjorie LeBlanc of Webster; his brother-in-law who he considered his brother, Drew Loce of Webster; his sisters-in-law, Emma and Samantha Lemay; his cousin who he considered his sister, Kay Valdes of Grafton; many uncles and aunts, including Bonnie Hoel, Heather Valdes, and Rhonda Delarosa; many cousins and friends; and his beloved husky, Midnight. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ronald and Norma Dupuis. He was born in Riverside, CA, and lived in Dudley and Webster prior to being stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX, from 2011-2014, and Fort Drum, NY, for the past year. He attended St. Joseph's School in Webster and graduated from Bartlett High School in 2010. Ronald was actively serving with the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Army Achievement Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Overseas Ribbon, and the Driver Mechanic Badge. He was posthumously awarded the Army Commendation Medal, which was presented to his wife and mother by Colonel David W. Gilliam. He attended St. Joseph's Basilica and Sacred Heart Parish, both in Webster. He played in the Dudley Little League, Webster Little League, and played South County Pop Warner Football. During high school, he played football for Bartlett Indians and was a member of the R.O.T.C. program. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 18 East Main St., Webster. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial with military honors will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Webster. Calling hours are Wednesday, July 1, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the River Community Wellness Program, c/o River Hospital, 4 Fuller St., Alexandria Bay, NY 13607.
