OXFORD - Roger A. Snay, 84, of Harwood St., died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge. He is survived by two brothers, Richard A. Snay of North Grosvenordale, CT, and Roland H. Snay of Thompson, CT; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy R. Rodman of Oxford. He was born in Dudley, the son of the late Arban J. and Mary Rose (Lacroix) Snay, and lived in Dudley and Webster before moving to Oxford in 1946. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Snay was a brick layer in the Local 6 Union in Worcester for over 50 years, retiring 20 years ago. He was a life member of the American Legion in Webster. He enjoyed hunting, clamming, gardening, and cooking, but his passion was fishing. A funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Webster. Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
