Roger Sampson

MANCHAUG - Roger O. Sampson, 80, of Main Street, died Sunday, October 26, 2014, after an illness. He is survived by his two daughters, Robin A. Sampson of Manchaug and Joey T. R. Vigeant and her husband James of Ayer; his sister, Lillian Lavine of Sturbridge; and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Manchester, NH, the son of the late Adelard and Blanche (Thibeault) Sampson and lived in Webster, Florida, and Arizona, before moving to Manchaug in 1984. A U.S. Army veteran of the 82nd Airborne, Mr. Sampson saw the world during the Korean Conflict. He later became a union laborer who worked on sites across the country, predominantly as a mason tender, until he retired in 1997. Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting the family with arrangements.
