OXFORD - Roger C. Rheault, 77, of Fort Hill Road, died Monday, August 10, 2009, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha L. (Moscoffian) Rheault of Oxford; seven children, Russell C. Rheault, Ronald C. Rheault and his wife Karen, Raymond C. Rheault and his wife Nancy, and Richard C. Rheault and his husband Kenneth, all of Oxford, Cindy L. Little and her husband Peter of Auburn, Susan J. Milner and her husband Jay of Webster, and Randy C. Rheault and his wife Sherry of Millbury; two sisters, Vivian Dubois of Oxford and Janet Nicholson of Webster; fourteen grandchildren, Thomas, Bradford, Brittany, Courtney, Christopher and his wife Jennifer, Joseph, Abbey, Ethan, and Emma Rheault, Meagan McIlvaine and her husband Keith, Julie and Jimmy Milner, Daniel and Meghan Little; and one great grandson, Colin McIlvaine; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a daughter, Rhonda Rheault who died in 1962; and a brother, Norman Rheault. He was born in Southbridge, the son of the late Omer U. and Clara G. (Cournoyer) Rheault, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Cole Trade High School in Southbridge in 1950, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Rheault was maintenance supervisor at Levinson Steel in Seekonk for 20 years, retiring in 1996. During retirement, he enjoyed working with his family at R.C. Rheault Construction in Oxford. He was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and was a member of the Webster Elks. Mr. Rheault enjoyed attending the reunions of the ships he served on - the U.S.S. Greene and the U.S.S. Leary. He enjoyed traveling throughout the country and the world, gardening, cutting wood, making maple syrup, and working with his family. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 11, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Huguenot Memorial Society, 9 Fort Hill Road, Oxford, MA 01540, or to the Elsie Moscoffian Memorial Art Scholarship, c/o Oxford High School, 495 Main Street, Oxford, Massachusetts 01540.
