OXFORD - Roger P. Beaudette, 81, of Locust Street, died on Saturday, December 13, 2008. He is survived by his son Rory Beaudette and his wife Rita; his son Gregory Beaudette, and two grandchildren, Renee and Ross Beaudette, all of Oxford. He leaves his brothers, Albert and Arthur Beaudette; sisters, Genevieve St. Cyr, Marie Hadley, Doris McDonald, and Delia Groleau. He also leaves many nephews, nieces, and his good friend Mary Waterhouse. He was predeceased by four brothers, Charles, Norman, Ronald, and Robert. Roger was born in Oxford, the son of the late Arthur and Josephine (Gallant) Beaudette. He was a U.S. Postal Carrier in Worcester for many years before retirement. Previously, he was a barber in Oxford. Roger was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division where he received the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 5663 in Oxford and the American Legion Post 391 in Charlton. He was a member of the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard in Oxford and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veteran's Association. He was an avid bowler and was a member of Auburn Ten Pin for many years. A military graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at North Cemetery, Oxford, with the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard participating. According to his wishes, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard, c/o Al Vigeant, 33 Chestnut Hill Road, North Oxford, MA 01537. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
