OXFORD / LARGO, FL - Roberta L. (Difruscio) Twomey, 71, of Largo, Florida, died peacefully at home on January 5, 2009, in the presence of her loved and care-giving family. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Matthew Twomey of Florida; two sons, Scott Dearent and his wife Debra of Oxford, and Christopher Twomey and his wife Lisa of Fiskdale; a daughter, Maura Twomey of Clearwater, FL; five grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, and Nolan Dearent, all of Oxford, and Kaitlyn and Kelcee Twomey, both of Fiskdale; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Joan Burke of Lawrence, MA. She was born in Boston, and lived close to family and friends in Oxford for over 25 years before moving to Florida in 1997. Mrs. Twomey was an administrative assistant at Hanover Insurance in Worcester for several years. She was a member of the Seminole Elks and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Parish. While living in Oxford, she was a member of St. Roch's Church and was a member of the parish folk group. She loved traveling both domestic and internationally with her husband and will be missed by all that knew her. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760, or to St. Roch's Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis Funeral Home, Oxford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
