CHARLTON – Robert C. Young, 75, of Wamsutta Ridge Road, died Sunday, November 15, 2015, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, from complications of Multiple Myeloma. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jacquelyn D. (Daley) Young; three children, Betsy A. Gaucher and her husband Charles of Pawtucket, RI, Mark D. Young and his wife Karen of Topsham, ME, and Susan E. Desy and her husband Steve of Brimfield; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Young, Sarah Young, Louis Desy, and Joseph Desy; a nephew, David Levesque, and a niece, Karen Rice. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary E. Levesque. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Clayton and Clara (MacDonald) Young, and lived in Shrewsbury before moving to Charlton 11 years ago. He graduated from Leicester High School in 1958 and UMass Amherst in 1962.
Mr. Young was a math teacher at Tahanto Regional High School in Boylston for 20 years. He became active in the I.T. field for the remainder of his career. He was an avid basket-maker and loved to cook.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Grace Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at Gore Cemetery in North Oxford. Calling hours are Wednesday, November 18, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
