POINCIANA, FL -- Robert E McGrath Sr., 79, died Friday, January 16, 2009, in his home. He was predeceased by his former wife, Ada (Pottle) McGrath of Worcester, who died in 1999. He is survived by his loving partner, Maria Fisher of Florida; a daughter, Kathleen A. Jordan of Worcester; a son, Robert E. McGrath Jr. of Worcester and China; four brothers, John J. McGrath of Fitchburg, Joseph T. McGrath of Bristol, NH, Charles V. McGrath of Portsmouth, NH, and James F. McGrath of Milford; two sisters, Irene Allain of Oxford and Catherine Richardson of Auburn; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born in Waltham, the son of the late John J. and Irene G. (Casey) McGrath, and lived in Oxford before moving to Florida several years ago. Mr. McGrath was a vice president at B.W. Footwear and BWA International for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a former member of the board of directors for the N.E. Shoe Forman Association and a member of the 200 Sportsman's Club. He was a member of the Webster Lodge of Elks and a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, January 19, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Children's Fund, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond VA 23294, or to The Salvation Army, 440 West Nyack Rd., West Nyack, NY 10994.
