Robert Lawless

OXFORD - Robert M. Lawless, 80, of Main Street, died Friday, November 22, 2008, in his home after a long illness. He is survived by his brother, Dennis Lawless Sr. and his wife Helen of Oxford; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Lawless of Coral Gables, FL. Mr. Lawless was born in New Britain, CT, the son of the late A. Robert and Agnes B. (Flanagan) Lawless, and lived in Kingston, NH, and Plastow, NH, before moving to Oxford 20 years ago. He w as a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Lawless was an engineer and surveyor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Engineering Division for 40 years, retiring several years ago. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1088 in Kingston, NH, and was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. He was an avid antique auto fan. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, November 24, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
