Robert Fredette

PUTNAM, CT - Robert H. Fredette, 56, died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, from complications of cancer. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan K. (Grisham) Fredette of Putnam, CT; four children, Katherine M. Fredette and her fiancé Joshua Robillard of Charlton, Keith R. Fredette and his wife Toni of Charlton, Mark J. Fredette and his wife Gabrielle of Nahant, MA, and Matthew S. Fredette and his wife Maryann of Tucson, AZ; his mother, Alice M. (Leger) Fredette of Oxford; two brothers, Norman G. Fredette of Hudson, NH, and Kenneth J. Fredette of Fitchburg; a sister, Robin M. Rutana of North Brookfield; eleven grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Henry L. Fredette, and lived in Oxford, Dudley, and Charlton, before moving to Putnam 2 years ago. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1970. Mr. Fredette owned and operated Executive Mechanical Service, Inc., for the past 7 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Air Force Reserve and was activated in January and deployed to Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Putnam, CT, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11379 in Charlton. He enjoyed woodworking and cared most of all for his wife, children, and grandchildren. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Military burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 30, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
