OXFORD - Robert F. "Charby" Charbonneau, 76, of Holbrook Road, died peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dottie (Ohrn) Charbonneau of Oxford; six children, Brad Charbonneau and his fiancée Alyssa Conway of Oxford, Ali Charbonneau of Oxford, Debra Edwards and her husband Robert of Sarasota, FL, Patti Tebo of Sarasota, FL, Pamela Hannifin and her husband Ed of Phoenix, AZ, and Donna Charbonneau-Whitney and her husband Jason of Hingham; a brother Wilfred Charbonneau of South Carolina; a sister, Dorothy Bergdahl of Worcester; 10 grandchildren, Noah, April, Emily, Nikki, Dalton, Brandon, Derrick, Louis, Alec, and Laura; a great granddaughter, Saoirse; his mother-in-law; Dorothy (Gengel) Ohrn of Oxford; several nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; and a very supportive friend, John Guerin of Webster. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Richard Charbonneau. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Wilfred Charbonneau, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1960. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in Worcester. Charby was the maintenance supervisor for the Oxford Housing Authority, retiring in 2009. He was a former member of the Oxford Fire Department, where he had worked on the ambulance and served as chief of the rescue. He was a constable and was elected to board of the Oxford Housing Authority after his retirement. He enjoyed going to the casino and the beach, loved working and participated in many events and activities in Oxford. He will be remembered by his family as a firecracker with a big heart. Memorial calling hours are Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 1-4 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at North Cemetery in Oxford.
