OXFORD – Robert L. Brooks, 87, of Allen Avenue, died Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lee E. (Barter) Brooks of Oxford; three children, Teresa Samuels and her fiancé Tom Gadzik of Mansfield, CT, Jeffrey Brooks and his significant other Jodi Bain of East Brookfield, and Ryan Brooks and his wife Wendy of Millbury; a stepdaughter, Lisa Robidoux and her husband Anthony of Coatesville, PA; two sisters, Ann Cecchi of Worcester, and Donna Barnes of Cumberland, RI; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Laurie Rivers; two brothers, William Brooks and Thomas Brooks; and two sisters, Dorothy Moquin and Louise Fricault.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late William E. and Edith M. (Fisher) Brooks, and lived in Oxford since 1978. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Brooks worked as a Union mason throughout his life. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford, and the Greendale Men’s Club. He enjoyed woodworking, metal-detecting, working in his yard, and traveling by R.V. with his wife. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024 at North Cemetery, 505 Main Street, Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, P.O. Box 756, Osceola WI 54020-0756.
Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
