Robert Brodeur

April 19, 1976 — July 9, 2015

Robert Paul Brodeur April 19, 1976 - July 9, 2015 CHARLTON - Our beloved son and brother, Robert Paul Brodeur, 39, of Charlton, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, of a drug overdose. The craving that comes from a true addiction was more than he could overcome. Bob was a kind and giving man who was thrilled when his uncle Paul received a liver transplant. Through his death, he was able to donate his kidneys so that two people could end dialysis and have a better quality of life. Bob loved to watch the Boston Red Sox and Patriots. He enjoyed talking sports with his dad, spending time with his one-eyed pug Prince, teasing his sister, hanging out with his friends, and being with his family. Bob graduated from Shepherd Hill High School and was a member of the Federated Church of Charlton. He previously worked at Polar Corporation and IKON. He is survived by his parents, Paul N. and Carol L. (Riopel) Brodeur of Charlton; his sister Jennifer LaChapelle and her husband Quinten of Manchester, CT; his wife Holly of Titusville, FL; his step-children, Charlene and Gary Babineau; and a large extended family. The family would like to thank the Charlton Police Dept. and EMT's, the E.R. staff at Harrington Hospital, critical care team at UMass Memorial, Emily and Aaron from the New England Organ Bank, Rev. Karen and our pastor Jim Chase. During Bob's last two days, he was cared for by many compassionate and gifted professionals. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 9-10 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Following the calling hour, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Federated Church of Charlton, 64 Main St., Charlton. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New England Organ Bank, 60 First Ave., Waltham, MA 02451.
