OXFORD - Robert "Bob" Michael Beck, 49, died Monday, April 14, 2014, after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his mother, Judith A. (Thompson) Beck of Webster; his brother, Timothy L. Beck and his wife Lynn of Oxford; his sister, Deborah A. Champagne and her husband Kirk of Charlton, who cared for him in their home in his final weeks; two nieces, Kristin and Stephanie Beck of Oxford; two nephews, Tony and Vinny Champagne of Charlton; his uncles and aunts, Benjamin and Linda Pollard of Nashua, NH, who were very special to him, and Robert and Vesta Thompson of Fairfield, CA; his cousin, Elizabeth Zelinka and her husband Michael of Fairfield, CA; and his very special friends, Steve and Donna Grenon, who Bobby lived with for two years during his struggle. He was born in Lowell, and lived in Oxford for many years before moving to Westboro 20 years ago. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1983 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Bob was a diesel mechanic at Poland Springs for 11 years. Previously, he worked at U.P.S. He loved playing video games, was a fan of the Bruins and the Patriots, and toured the country as a roller coaster enthusiast. Calling hours are Thursday, April 17, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. After cremation, burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
