Rita Smith

CHARLTON – Rita R. (Dellomo) Smith, 75, of Brook Road, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus in Worcester, after a long illness. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert G. Burke; her second husband, Robert G. Smith; and her brother, John A. Dellomo. She is survived by five children, Wendy L. Johnson and her husband Vincent of Oxford, Barbara J. Clarke and her companion Robert Pelletier of Worcester, Peggy S. Armentrout and her husband Paul of Charlton, Cyndy L. Burke and her companion Mark Lemieux of Mount Vernon, ME, and William A. Burke and his wife Sally of Charlton; her sister, Ann M. Gentile and her husband David of Cape Coral, FL; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John J. and Angelina (Alizio) Dellomo, and lived in Worcester before moving to Charlton 50 years ago.

Mrs. Smith graduated from North High School in Worcester. She enjoyed knitting, bingo, puzzles, crosswords, singing, music, dancing, and yodeling. Her favorite shows included Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Days of our Lives. She was a wonderful cook who will be remembered for her meatballs and Italian cookies.
