OXFORD - Rita F. (Caplette) McGeary, 92, a longtime resident of 23 Wheelock St., died peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2012, at the Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. McGeary who died in 1967; and her daughter, Linda M. Marcotte who died in 1999. She is survived by six children, Carol A. Bishop and her husband Allan Sr. of Wales, ME, Michael J. McGeary and his wife Anna of Lake Suzy, FL, Catherine T. McGeary of Oxford, Patrick J. McGeary of Oxford, Lori Urella and her husband Wayne of Sutton, and David J. McGeary of Webster; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Alexander and Rose (Simoneau) Caplette, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. Rita was a popular, hardworking, waitress at several area restaurants, retiring in 1989 from The Lodge in Webster. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, dining out, her family, and her wide circle of friends. A funeral will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Friends are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, October 18, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 460 Totten Pond Rd., Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451-1942, or to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
