Rita Howard

June 13, 1919 — March 20, 2008

OXFORD – Rita A. (LaMountain) Howard, 88, of Stuart Street, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Autumn Village in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Edward P. Howard of Oxford, who died in 1991. She is survived by three sons, Dr. Paul E. Howard and his wife Judy of Schoharie, NY, Edward G. Howard and his wife Carol of Charlton, and Gary P. Howard and his wife Janet of Oxford; a brother, Peter LaMountain of Charlton; two sisters, Ruth Bond of Oxford and Louise Hargis of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Howard of Charlton, Charles Howard of Oxford, Thomas Howard of Rensselaer, NY, and Paula Pickett of Oxford; and a great granddaughter, Diana Pickett of Oxford. Mrs. Howard was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Arthur and Minnie (Vautour) LaMountain, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1937, and was a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main Street, North Oxford. Friends are respectfully invited to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Church, P.O. Box 488, North Oxford, MA 01537. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
