OXFORD - Rita M. (Zemaitis) Fairbanks, 52, of Ashton St., died Sunday, October 25, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Oxford. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, William K. Fairbanks of Oxford; her daughter, Monica E. Fairbanks of Oxford; her mother, Julia (Naikelis) Zemaitis of Oxford; two brothers, Vincent Zemaitis of Kissimmee, FL, and Raymond Zemaitis of Daytona, FL; a sister, Ruth Coakley and her husband Robert of Worcester; her brother-in-law James Fairbanks; her sister-in-law, Amy West; her niece and Goddaughter, Casey; and nieces and nephews, Ashley, Shawn, and Jennifer. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Bruno Zemaitis, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford 27 years ago. She graduated from Burncoat High School in Worcester in 1975. Mr. Fairbanks was previously employed by Chadwick Medical Associates in Worcester as an administrative assistant, where she worked for 7 years. Previously, she worked at the Auburn VNA, the Worcester VNA, St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, and Physical Therapy Innovations in Auburn. She enjoyed reading, traveling, animals, and going to the ocean. A funeral will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Thursday, October 29, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Network, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
