Rita Brunelle

OXFORD – Rita G. (Remillard) Brunelle, 81, of Main St., died Saturday, January 5, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, after a long illness. She was predeceased her husband of 55 years and love of her life, Leo A. Brunelle of Oxford, who died in 2001. She is survived by two daughters, Jane M. Brunelle of Oxford and Judy A. Rodier and her husband Thomas of Oxford; three sons, Donald J. Brunelle and his companion Joanne Strycharz of Webster, Richard J. Brunelle and his wife Paula of Oxford, and Michael J. Brunelle and his wife Jean of Charlton; her brother, G. Paul Remillard of Sebring, FL; ten grandchildren, Victoria, Virginia, Sarah, Jared, Bryan, Leah, Gregory, and Daniel Brunelle, Jenna Rodier "her special angel", and Jessica Rodier; one great granddaughter, Brea; and several nephews and nieces. She predeceased by a brother, Roland Remillard of Worcester, who died in 1997. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late George and Marie A. (Carbonneau) Remillard, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford 52 years ago. Mrs. Brunelle was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She enjoyed traveling, vacationing dancing, playing cards with her family, and especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed celebrating the holidays, and opened her home to everyone at Christmastime. She loved her cat and friend, Missy. Mrs. Brunelle was a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford. Her family would like to offer many thanks to the children of Sister Jeanne's C.C.D. for their cards and the St. Vincent de Paul for all they have done. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 8, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
