CHARLTON - Richard “Rick” D. Doucimo, 56, of Charlton died peacefully at home with family and friends with him. He was the son of Dick and Joyce (Poirier) Doucimo; brother to John A. of Oxford, Nancy R. Doucimo-Garcia also of Charlton, and Mark R. and wife Michelle of Charlton. He also leaves nieces and nephews, Sarah, Morgan, Hunter, Dylan, Kristina, and Kelsea; a great nephew Mikey; and his loving aunt Janet.

Thirty eight years ago, shortly after graduating from Bay Path H.S he had a swimming accident that left him paralyzed. Although a quadriplegic he became artistic, drawing many pictures using a #2 pencil in his mouth. He taught himself to do many things including his computer work. He had many "How To" videos on You Tube (youtube.com/user/mojoe60): cooking, his garden, how to restore old pictures etc. He had almost a million views from 228 countries, and had over 2,000 subscribers.

His family would like to thank the Overlook VNA nurses, Linda and Heather, the nurses at Memorial same day surgery. He was there often and made friends with many nurses, and also his PCA of many years, Sara. In addition, his friend Ed that took him cross country and Pat his first PCA, who bought him his first set of drawing pencils.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H. Putnam Road Ext., Charlton. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 30, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 338, Charlton City, MA 01508.
