OXFORD – Richard J. “Vinnie” Vincent, 63, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus in Worcester, with his family by his side. He is survived by his significant other, Tarry A. York of Oxford; his daughter, Tina L. Vincent and her fiancé Albert Bressan of Douglas; his former spouse, Susan P. Vincent of Webster; two sisters, Patricia I. Spitz and her husband William of Oxford, and Pamela M. Wright and her husband Kenneth of Oxford; three grandsons, Nathan E. Vincent, Parker J. Vincent, and Ayden A.M. Bressan, all of Douglas; a large extended family, and his beloved American Legion family. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Richard L. and Marilyn E. (Thomas) Luks, and lived most of his life in Oxford with the exception of his 17 years in the military. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1976.
Vinnie was a custodian at Oxford Public Schools for many years, retiring as head custodian of the Chaffee School earlier this month. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and proudly served in Desert Storm. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58, Oxford Memorial Honor Guard, and the American Legion Riders. He was also a member of the Auburn Elks. Vinnie loved riding his motorcycle, camping, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as an outgoing man with many friends – the kind of person that everyone wanted to be around.
