MANCHAUG - Richard A. Zielinski, 64, of Tucker Lane, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane M. (Monfreda) Zielinski of Manchaug; two sons, Erik M. Zielinski and his wife Karen of Franklin, and Joshua P. Zielinski of Providence, RI; a brother, Henry "Hank" V. Zielinski and his wife Hope of Dudley; four grandchildren, Matthew J. Zielinski, Erin R. Zielinski, Shawn P. Zielinski, and Samuel T. Zielinski, all of Franklin, and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Valentine J. and Anita (Rock) Zielinski, and lived in Webster before moving to Manchaug in 1977. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1967 and attended Becker College. Mr. Zielinski was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, attaining the rank of specialist and receiving the Army Commendation Medal. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans in Worcester. He worked for the Massachusetts Highway Department for 16 years. Family would like to thank Annie LaMountain for all the help that she's given the family during this difficult time. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Garden of Peace in Webster. Calling hours are Friday, June 27, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
