Richard Wing

OXFORD - Richard W. Wing, 79, of Huguenot Rd., died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Radius Healthcare Center in Southbridge. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rose Mary J. (McGuiness) Wing of Oxford; a sister, Lorry Magnuson of Worcester, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife, Sylvia (Lisieski) Wing of Oxford, who died in 1983. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Lawrence and Beatrice (Skeean) Wing, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford over 50 years ago. He graduated from St. Peter's High School in Worcester in 1948 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Wing was a salesman at several kitchen cabinet stores in Oxford for several years. Previously, he was manager of the kitchen department at Sawyer Lumber in Worcester for 20 years. He was also a licensed real estate broker in the area for several years. Mr. Wing was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and the Father Dennis J. Rocheford Knights of Columbus Council 4241 in Oxford. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford for 20 years. A funeral will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Military burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford, with the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard participating. Calling hours are Thursday, October 7, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summit Eldercare of Charlton, c/o Activities Dept., 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, MA 01507.

Oxford Memorial Honor Guard will stand guard and the Father Dennis J. Rocheford Knights of Columbus Council 4241 in Oxford will conduct a service at 7:30 p.m.
