OXFORD - Richard J. Trudeau, 84, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus. He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Dolores T. (Robbio) Trudeau, who died in 1995. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Nickerson of Cocoa, FL; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah A. Goddard; a son, Richard J. Trudeau; and a brother, Joseph Trudeau. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late George H. and Alfonsine (Commette) Trudeau, and lived in Worcester for 30 years before moving to Oxford over 50 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Trudeau worked at Day Paul Plastics in Worcester for 29 years, retiring in 1989. In his younger years, he was involved in the Boys Club in Worcester. He was a member of the American Legion Post 58 in Oxford and was a former member of St. Roch's Church. He enjoyed tinkering with old electronics and woodworking. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
