Richard Tornberg, Sr.

OXFORD - Richard F. Tornberg Sr., 74, of Wheelock St., died Sunday, November 15, 2009, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Dudley on November 6th. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Ethel E. (Irish) Tornberg of Oxford, who died on November 6, 2009; five children, Leeann Dufresne and her husband Paul of Oxford, June Poirier and her husband Richard of Oxford, Tracy Surrette of Oxford, Richard Tornberg and his wife Tina of Rutland, and Lisa Hresko and her husband John of Belchertown; two sisters, Eleanor O'Donnel of Plympton and Leah Snow of Holbrook; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by many brothers and sisters. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Henry E. and Emily L. (Carey) Tornberg, and lived in Boston and Worcester before moving to Oxford 18 years ago. Mr. Tornberg retired as a machinist from Jamesbury Corporation in Worcester. He loved fishing and going to the casino, and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren grow up. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, November 20, 2009, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
