Richard W. Mason

CHARLTON – Richard W. Mason, 77, of Freeman Road, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in his home.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna M. (MacLean) Mason of Charlton; three daughters, Tina M. Plotegher and her husband Joe of Charlton, Mary Younan and her husband Bill of Michigan, and Jill Ohlson and her significant other Tim Simpson of Attleboro; and seven grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his sister, Diane Mason.  He was born in Stoughton, son of the late Richard W. and Regina (Matthews) Mason, was raised in Stoughton, lived in Foxboro for many years, and lived in Englewood, FL, for the last 20 years, before moving to Charlton last year.  He graduated from Stoughton High School in 1965.

Mr. Mason was a security guard for the Foxboro Company in Foxboro for over 25 years.  While in Florida, he worked for F.E.M.A., and was the head of security at several local golf courses.  He was a member of the Franklin Rod and Gun Club for many years.  Richard loved fishing and was an avid Patriots fan.  He enjoyed collecting coins and baseball cards, traveling to Aruba, and spending time at the beach.

Services will be held privately.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.  Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
