Richard Liberty, Sr.

OXFORD - Richard W. Liberty, Sr., 85, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center in Charlton. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Beatrice M. (Lanoue) Liberty of Oxford who died in 2000. He is survived by three children, Richard W. Liberty Jr. and his wife Sharon of Auburn, Denise M. Lagor and her husband James of West Warwick, RI, and Patricia A. Sabatinelli and her husband Rudy of Southbridge; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Roger Liberty. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Roger T. and Marie (Favreault) Liberty, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1953. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in Worcester and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Liberty worked at Southbridge Sheet Metal for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. Calling hours and a funeral service will be private. Burial will be private at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Overlook Masonic Health System, 88 Masonic Home Rd, PO Box 1000, Charlton, Massachusetts 01507. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
