Richard Johnston

WORCESTER – Richard J. Johnston, 88, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Jean A. (Lemay) Johnston. He leaves four children, Richard J. Jr. and his wife Jane of Holden, James M. and his wife Maria of Holden, Michelle Leclair and her husband Joseph of Oxford, and Brian D. Johnston of Marlboro; a brother, Joseph J. Johnston of Worcester; two sisters, Dorothy M. Woodward of Worcester, and Barbara A. Fiore of Northbridge; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was born in Oxford, son of the late Joseph J. and Amelia P. (Flagg) Johnston, and lived in Auburn for 40 years before moving to Worcester 48 years ago. He graduated from St. Peter’s High School in Worcester.

Mr. Johnston worked in security at Wyman-Gordon Company for 10 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member St. Stephen’s Church in Worcester and the Knights of Columbus Council #4158 in Auburn.

There are no calling hours. Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
